Nottinghamshire Law Society needed a modern platform to showcase events, news, and updates to their 1,300 members while improving public access to legal services, something their outdated website couldn’t deliver. Through research, workshops, and UX design, we built a bespoke web application with powerful search functionality, member logins, event booking, and content submission.

Nottinghamshire Law Society needed more than a new website. As a membership organisation supporting over 1,300 legal professionals, they required a digital platform that could better serve both members and the public.

Their existing website lacked the functionality needed to manage events, share updates, support member engagement, and help users find legal services across Nottinghamshire. The user experience was outdated, making it difficult for visitors to access information and limiting the Society's ability to deliver value online.

The challenge was to create a modern, user-friendly platform that streamlined member services while improving accessibility for the wider community.

A bespoke website that improved user experience and delivered powerful search functionality for 1,300 members.

Our Approach

We began with a detailed discovery phase to understand the needs of members, administrators, and public users. Through stakeholder workshops, audience research, and user journey mapping, we identified opportunities to simplify navigation and improve access to information.

The insights gathered informed the design and development of a bespoke website and member platform tailored to Nottinghamshire Law Society's requirements. From intuitive search functionality to event management and secure member access, every feature was designed around real user needs.

The result was a flexible digital platform that supports both day-to-day operations and long-term organisational growth.

There isn’t a moment in the working day, when there isn’t a member logged in, a member of the public searching for a service or a candidate looking for a job. The website, does exactly what we wanted and more.

Tailor-made membership area

A secure log-in area was designed and built for the official members of The Nottinghamshire Law Society. Within this area, members can gain access to discounted events, social occasions, networking opportunities, members-only content and local offers.

FAQs.

A successful membership website makes it easy for users to access resources, manage memberships, register for events, and stay informed. It should balance the needs of members, administrators, and public users while providing a seamless and intuitive user experience.

Usage of the website increased significantly by members of the Nottinghamshire Law Society and manual tasks were drastically reduced for the team, improving efficiency for both users and managers of the website. Data was much cleaner and clearer, supporting teams with planning and outreach.
